Algeria has announced its membership in the Global Coalition for
Social Justice, an initiative launched by the Director General of the
International Labour Organization (ILO). This decision, announced by the
Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Fayçal Bentaleb, aims to
strengthen international cooperation in favour of equitable social justice on a
global and African scale.
During the celebration of the 69ᵉ anniversary of the UGTA and the
54ᵉ anniversary of the nationalization of hydrocarbons, the minister stressed
that this membership reflects Algeria's deep conviction in the key role of
social justice in economic stability and the protection of fundamental rights.
Algeria is committed to actively promoting justice, equality, and
human dignity values, considering that social justice is essential to
harmonious and inclusive development. Fayçal Bentaleb also recalled the
country's recent social advances, notably higher wages, improved working
