Ahmed Miliani Thiba, CEO of Sacomi Algeria, confirmed that this partnership will enable the training of specialised technicians and engineers, thereby contributing to the revival of a strong and sustainable national electronics industry, reducing imports, and enhancing technological security.
Miliani added that this Algerian-Chinese partnership is a starting point for continuing the modernization of high-quality electronic device manufacturing and strengthening the "Made in Algeria" brand by opening the doors to future technologies. He stated, "Today's Algeria is not only a consumer of technology, but also a producer. The official announcement of the manufacture of ZTE products in Algeria, using Algerian labour and skills, is primarily aimed at the domestic market."
The manager emphasised that Sacomi has adhered to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's directives, which call for the promotion of domestic production and the strengthening of local integration. This objective is achieved through the recruitment of national talent in production chains, thereby contributing to the strategic goal of economic and technological sovereignty.
He added: "With Sacomi Algeria and our Chinese partner ZTE, the smartphone of tomorrow is now within our reach. We are bringing to the Algerian market an essential tool and a gateway to digital and information technologies, supporting every Algerian in their work, communication, and learning, regardless of their age or profession, and soon with integrated artificial intelligence."
The head of Sacomi said that the company's ambition is to disseminate technology and make it accessible to all, adapting to the needs of Algerian citizens, while adding value to the national economy and supporting young entrepreneurs.
He will specify that the strategic partnership with the Chinese company will enable the introduction of expertise and precision technology into modern production that complies with international standards, in addition to creating high-quality jobs and training specialists in precision technology.
Miliani emphasized that the company was seeking to increase its integration rate, with the current percentage of phone manufacturing estimated at 30%. He explained that due to their unavailability, raw materials were imported from Asia.
