Over 77,000 farms connected to the electricity grid

According to Mohamed Arkab, Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies, more than 77,000 farms across the country have been connected to the electricity grid since 2020.

The Minister of Energy announced that 77,242 farms had been connected to the electricity grid thanks to coordinated efforts between the sectors concerned. He reaffirmed the government's commitment to continuing this program, launched in 2020, to support food security and speed up connections by overcoming technical and administrative constraints.

 

Concerning natural gas connections, he pointed out that the wilaya of M'sila is benefiting from a program to supply over 40,000 households, with a completion rate of 73% and an investment of 14.9 billion dinars. He also emphasized that the State plans new connection projects annually, depending on available resources.

 

The natural gas coverage of the wilaya of Ouled Djellal has reached 64%, and additional needs, including those of villages, will be met progressively according to budgetary capacities.
