More than 50,000 hectares of agricultural land open to private investment

On Saturday, the National Office for Agricultural Land (ONTA) launched a new subscription for investors and young entrepreneurs wishing to benefit from the tenth land portfolio dedicated to agricultural investment under the concession system. This initiative is based on the provisions of Executive Decree No. 21-432 dated April 11, 2021, as amended and supplemented, aimed at boosting private agricultural investment and optimizing the value of the national land heritage.

ONTA is making available a land portfolio of 50,234 hectares in the wilayas of El Bayadh and Ménéa to stimulate agricultural investment. El Bayadh is offering 45,724 hectares on two strategic perimeters, intended for fruit crops, potatoes (for consumption and seed) and grain corn, with a ceiling of 1,000 hectares per request. Ménéa offers 4,510 hectares spread over four perimeters, three of which are reserved for private investors for cereal, forage, phoeniciculture and oilseed crops, and one perimeter reserved for young entrepreneurs for market gardening, fruit arboriculture and forage crops, with a maximum of 2,000 hectares per application. Applications, to be submitted via the onta.dz platform are open for 30 days from August 3, 2025. This initiative aims to modernize agriculture, reduce food imports, create jobs and strengthen food security, while promoting traditional Saharan industries.
