Oran/Mostaganem: A smart irrigation system for farms

The installation of the first models of the new intelligent irrigation system designed by a research team from the universities of Oran 1 “Ahmed Benbella” and “Abdelhamid Ibn Badis” of Mostaganem, called “Start-kit”, should be carried out next September in small farms of Oran and Mostaganem selected as pilot sites, said the academic Kechar.

He noted that this project is part of the "Intel-Iris Prima" program, dedicated to precision agriculture in the Euro-Mediterranean area and will preserve water resources and improve agricultural production qualitatively and quantitatively.

The models of this system were developed by a team of university researchers specialized in electronics and computer media from the Laboratory of Industrial Informatics for Networks of the Department of Informatics of the Faculty of Exact and Applied Sciences of the University of Oran 1 and two researchers in agronomy of the University of Mostaganem, added the academic, also director of the Laboratory.
