Niger's oil minister arrives in Algiers: strategic projects on the agenda

The Minister of Petroleum of the Republic of Niger, Mr Sahabi Omaro, began a working visit to Algeria this Sunday at the head of a high-level delegation.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Energy and Mines, the delegation was welcomed at Algiers International Airport by the Secretary of State for Renewable Energies, Noureddine Yassa.

 

According to the press release, this visit is part of ongoing exchanges aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Algeria and Niger in the hydrocarbons sector, by implementing the roadmap agreed by the two parties during the Nigerian minister's last visit to Algeria.

 

The press release states that the visit aims to discuss ways of strengthening the bilateral partnership and implementing joint development projects, in particular Sonatrach's exploration and research project in Niger, the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline (TSGP) project, as well as supporting the Republic of Niger in its plans to build an oil refinery and a petrochemical complex in the Dosso region, and also training and coaching Nigerien executives in the hydrocarbons field.

 

The program for the Nigerian Oil Minister's visit includes a number of important meetings with the Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies, and Sonatrach officials.
