Algeria: Towards an Arab-Chinese strategic partnership in housing and urban development

 

At the Arab-Chinese Ministerial Meeting on Housing and Urban Development, Tarek Belaribi, Algerian Minister of Housing and current Chairman of the Council of Arab Housing Ministers, stressed the importance of strengthening win-win partnerships between Arab countries and China in housing and urban planning.

 

Key points of the meeting:

 

·  Exchange of experience: Discussions on construction technologies, sustainable development, smart cities, earthquake-resistant construction and urban renewal.

·  Strategic partnership: The Minister invited China to explore opportunities in Algeria's ambitious housing program

·  Economic cooperation: The volume of trade between China and the Arab countries reached 400 billion USD in 2024, making China the second largest trading partner of the Arab States.

 

Prospects for Sino-Arab partnership:

 

·  Develop innovative solutions to challenges such as population growth and climate change.

·  Create sustainable strategies for urban planning and housing.

·  Strengthen technical exchanges and provide training for construction professionals.

 

Shared objective: to write a new chapter in strategic cooperation, drawing on mutual experience to achieve lasting, mutually beneficial results.
