Oil and gas exploration: Ongoing negotiations with Lukoil and Russneft

In that context, he stated that the oil group Sonatrach and Gazprom were working on the development of the Um El Assel field south-east of Hassi Messaoud, describing it as ‘very successful’, given that the Algerian side was looking for Russian partners in oil and gas exploration.

Negotiations are ongoing with the two Russian companies Lukoil and Russneft, he added.

We are exploring with Russian partners the possibility of developing mining projects in Algeria that bring added value, he said.

Referring to projects for the supply of drinking water from non-conventional sources, the Minister expressed his sector’s interest in partnering with Russian companies for the development and transfer of seawater desalination technologies.
