On this occasion, the minister emphasized that this technology represents "a qualitative leap in mobile phone services, as it allows multiple lines to be activated on a single device without a physical SIM card, thereby helping to simplify procedures, reduce SIM card imports, and strengthen digital security," the ministry explained in a statement.
The adoption of eSIM is part of the "digital transformation roadmap accompanying preparations for the launch of the 5G network," he added, calling for "close coordination between operators and the ARPCE to ensure the operationality of infrastructure and the unification of technical standards."
In this context, the minister emphasized "the importance of infrastructure sharing between operators as a strategic choice aimed at reducing infrastructure investment costs and directing them toward supporting investments in technical infrastructure for telephone and internet services."
He emphasized in this regard that citizens remain "at the heart of the sector's priorities, and that the integration of this new service is part of the ministry's efforts to provide modern and secure digital services that strengthen Algeria's position in the field of modern communications," according to the same source.
