Djellaoui details the road projects planned in the 2026 draft budget

On Thursday, Abdelkader Djellaoui, Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, presented the Council of the Nation with an overview of the main road projects included in the 2026 draft finance bill. He explained that these projects are distributed in a “balanced” manner among the country's various provinces.

During a plenary session of the Council, the Minister of Public Works, Mr Djellaoui, presented the projects planned under the 2026 budget. These involve the construction, rehabilitation, and widening of key roads, particularly the RN1, which connects Ghardaïa, El Menia, and In Salah. Several sections will be renovated, with a total budget of several billion dinars. Other major projects are being launched in El Menia, Touggourt, Adrar, and Bejaïa, aimed at improving traffic flow and road safety. These works are part of a long-term strategy to modernize the national road network, despite financial and technical constraints.
