This zone will soon be opened to investors as part of efforts to boost the region's economic appeal. Covering a total area of 500 hectares, the zone has benefited from a significant financial package of around 700 billion centimes dedicated to development and construction work. Djamel Eddine Boussaâd said that the industrial zone is a promising industrial hub, capable of attracting both domestic and foreign investment. According to the same official, the rate of progress on internal development work has reached 97%, while work on connecting to the various essential networks is continuing, with several of them already completed. The zone also stands out for the construction of a high-voltage electrical substation, the first of its kind in the country, with a capacity of 600 KW, guaranteeing an adequate and stable energy supply for future industrial projects, he emphasised. It should be noted that the Hassi Ben Abdallah industrial zone is a promising investment hub worth more than 700 billion centimes, but its completion has been significantly delayed since 2013. The delays were mainly technical in nature, particularly concerning civil engineering works, which were handled by the relevant supervisory bodies, namely CTC Sud and the National Laboratory for Housing and Construction in the South-East (LNHC). Plus, the service order for the completion of the electrical transformer for the electrification of the industrial zone was issued on September 26, 2024, with a contractual deadline of 24 months. Concerning other infrastructure, finalisation work was progressing at a rate of 35%, while the rate of progress on the water reservoir intended to supply the industrial park had reached 54%. The construction of the artesian well, which faced technical constraints requiring a change in the drilling site, was officially scheduled for completion in December 2024. However, despite these commitments, the industrial zone was not delivered on the originally scheduled date and remains at a completion rate of 97% to date.
