Zeghdar: Electronics and household appliances industry covers 83% of national needs

In a speech, Minister Zeghdar revealed that domestic production currently covers around 83% of the needs of the local market, allowing a sizeable share of its products to be exported to African and European countries.

The number of companies operating in this sector is estimated at around 150 Algerian companies with the emergence of industrial clusters such as Sétif, Bordj Bou Arreridj and Sidi Bel Abbes.

Companies operating in the public sector for the manufacture of household appliances account for 13%, while private enterprises account for 87% of the sector. This industry contributes, the Minister added, to more than 30,000 direct jobs, including 16,000 in the public sector.
