The Date Industry Exhibition, under the patronage of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, will bring together local and international stakeholders (Tunisia, Libya, Turkey). The event aims to increase competitiveness, improve product quality and boost date exports and their derivatives.

Mohamed Yezid Hambli, President of the Chamber, highlighted the economic importance of the date sector: Algeria is the world's leading producer, with more than 19 million date palms. National production will exceed 11.5 million quintals between 2021 and 2023, highlighting the sector's growth potential.

The event will promote research, raise public awareness of date varieties, and encourage the development of the processing industry, mechanization, and modern marketing and packaging techniques.

Hambli also highlighted the government's roadmap, which includes planting one million date palms to consolidate this strategic sector.
