Minister Saïd Sayoud made an unannounced visit to the port of Algiers to address the severe congestion caused by the delay of certain economic operators in removing their containers. He ordered closer coordination between port management and customs services, while demanding that operators assume their responsibilities, under penalty of sanctions that could include blacklisting. These measures are expected to enhance container processing and ease maritime traffic. The minister nevertheless welcomed the improvement in the situation in the sea waiting area, with only two ships waiting. He also inspected quays 8 and 9, calling for the acceleration of work and its completion before the summer season, as well as the expansion of the ferry terminal to improve passenger reception. Finally, he ordered the activation of inspection and monitoring units in all national ports to ensure smooth and secure port operations.
