Spain: EUR 8 million of ceramic materials awaiting shipment to Algeria

This situation has left the ceramics sector unable to trade with its second largest export market and with losses of EUR 25 million, as confirmed to El Mundo Fernando Fabra, President of the Spanish Ceramic Manufacturers Association (ANFECC).

50 days without sending their product to Algerian customers, which means that they have trouble reaching the 120 million turnovers with Algeria planned for 2022 in a normal context.

According to Fernando Fabra, there are about eight million euros of equipment blocked in Spanish ports, waiting to be sent to Algeria..

On 8 June, Algeria suspended the friendship treaty in response to the decision of the government of Pedro Sánchez to support the Moroccan plan for autonomy in the Sahara.
