The maintenance teams from the Blida region carried out the first intervention at the 400/220 kilovolt (kV) transformer station in Boumerdes, where an autotransformer insulator was repaired after an oil leak was detected during a routine inspection, the statement said.

This operation enabled the two strategic 400 and 220-kV lines, dedicated to transporting energy produced by the Cap Djinet power station and supplying electricity to the wilayas of Boumerdès, Blida and East Algiers, to continue operating.

The second intervention was carried out by maintenance teams from the Chlef region, who replaced a circuit breaker pole at the Ouled Fares transformer station following a technical failure, after carrying out the necessary technical tests and before putting it back into service, according to the same source.

These operations were carried out without any impact on the continuity of power supply, "which reflects the level of vigilance and professionalism of Sonelgaz's teams in securing vital installations and ensuring the stability of the national electricity grid," the statement concluded.
