The inauguration of the Tixter logistics zone, attended by three ministers and the Director General of Customs, marks a major step forward in strengthening Algeria's logistics infrastructure. Located in a strategic area with a direct rail connection, this facility is designed to improve the flow of goods, support exports and relieve congestion in coastal ports, notably Béjaïa.

The reopening of this area will enable economic operators in the Hauts-Plateaux region to reduce transport costs and boost exports using rail. Featuring the country's largest container terminal covering 20 hectares, it is directly linked to the ports of Béjaïa, Algiers and Skikda.

The project is part of a national strategy to modernize logistics, with other similar zones to open soon. It aims to make Algeria a major regional hub, facilitating domestic and foreign trade. With an annual capacity of 740,000 tonnes and a potential annual revenue of $3 billion, the Tixter dry port is a key lever for national economic competitiveness.
