Baladna project: Sonelgaz sets up 8 power plants in the first phase

Sonelgaz CEO Mourad Adjal has affirmed the Group's commitment to mobilizing all its resources to connect the Baladna project to the energy grid within the timeframe agreed and recommended by the country's high authorities, according to a press release issued by the public Group on Thursday.

Receiving a delegation of senior executives from the Qatari company « Baladna Food Industries », at the head office of the Group's general management, Mr. Adjal affirmed that Sonelgaz had drawn up, for this purpose, a practical roadmap, capable of enabling it to implement all its commitments regarding energy connection.

 

80 Megawatts and 08 power plants to be installed in the first phase

 

To do this, 80 Megawatts and 8 power plants were set up in the first stage, pending receipt of the gas connection request by the Qatari » party, the press release specifies.

 

For his part, the executive director of the Qatari company in Algeria, Maurice Ghattas highlighted the importance of the project for the MENA region, welcoming the level of confidence placed by his company in the Sonelgaz Group, according to the press release which recalled the holding, on Wednesday, of an extended meeting between several senior executives from both parties, to examine the questions inherent in carrying out the project, including technical details.
