In Adrar wilaya, the Ennaim training centre organizes dairy cow breeding and farmer training courses for a state-approved certificate, and job opportunities in the new Algerian-Qatari Baladna project soon to be launched in the region. The Baladna project, covering a total area of 117,000 ha, comprises three poles, each containing a grain and fodder production farm, a cow breeding, a milk and meat production farm, and a milk powder production plant. The $3.5 billion project will be implemented in four phases, the first of which will start in 2026 and the last nine years following the project's launch, with a production capacity of 194,000 tonnes of milk powder per year. In the first phase, a farm will be set up to meet feed requirements, another with a capacity of 50,000 head of cattle will be designed and modern milk powder production lines installed. By the ninth year of the project, the total number of cattle should reach 270,000, with an annual milk production of almost 1.7 billion litres.
