In an interview on Radio Chaine 1, Mr Boulkhessaim added that the public authorities attach great importance to the fishing sector to help achieve food security through incentives such as access to deep-sea fishing zones to develop aquatic farming.

In another context, the representative of the Ministry of Fisheries stressed that the importation of vessel engines less than 5 years old into the fishing activity allows their shipowners and owners to access fishing zones to increase national production and reduce production costs, which is positively reflected in the prices of fishery products.

Concerning the remote vessel monitoring system, Boulkhessam considered that the latter would improve vessel monitoring from a safety point of view, protect fisheries wealth and define a map of maritime fishing zones.

He also mentioned that 82 emerging companies have been counted which have a brand of innovative projects in the fishing and aquaculture sector, and whose projects contribute to the development of innovation and national production.
