Port of Oran: over 8 million tonnes of goods handled in 9 months

According to Fasla Mahmoud Djawed, Advisor to the CEO of the Port Enterprise of Oran (EPO), the Port of Oran handled over 8 million tonnes of goods in the first nine months of the current year, up 7% on the same period in 2023.

The port of Oran handled 8,351,914 tonnes of goods in the first nine months of 2024, an increase of 7% compared to the previous year. Non-hydrocarbon exports mainly included clinker, cement and ferrous metals. Dry bulk goods increased by 15% to 6,413,313 tonnes. The most important import was cereals with 2,518,798 tonnes, followed by animal feed. Container traffic increased by 19% with 210,002 containers handled. The number of passengers decreased by 2.36%, while the number of vehicles increased by 18.62%.
