On public radio, Sonelgaz spokesman Khalil Hodna highlighted the group's strategic progress and projects, including agricultural and industrial connections and energy transition initiatives.
Electricity and gas connections
- 66,000 farms have been connected to the electricity network since November 2024, with others in progress.
- 41 industrial zones have been connected to the electricity grid, and 36 of the 50 planned zones have been connected to the natural gas network, supporting industrial investment.
Energy transition and innovation
- Clean energy production target: 15,000 MW by 2035, with stations such as Gara Djebilet (3,500 MW) planned for 2025.
- Development of local industry via SAIEG,
- notably with the manufacture of smart meters for remote management of energy consumption.
Exports and diversification
- Exports of products such as industrial turbines, turbine blades and recharging stations for electric vehicles, boost the international presence of Algerian products.
Carbon monoxide detectors
- 9 million detectors were installed out of the 22 million planned, to reduce asphyxiation accidents, following the President's instructions. The operation includes households not connected to the gas network.
