Medicines Market: Aoun orders reorganisation of the distribution chain

On Tuesday, the Minister for Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Ali Aoun, received a delegation from the national office of the national union of pharmacists, SNAPO, led by its president, Karim Merghemi.

According to a Ministry press release, the meeting, which was part of the ongoing dialogue and ongoing consultations with the Management and Union, addressed a number of issues, in particular those relating to generic medicines, the protection of the national pharmaceutical product and food supplements.

After taking note of the concerns raised by the union, Aoun ordered those involved in the pharmaceutical production sector to restructure the observatory for monitoring the availability of pharmaceutical products.

The Minister also ordered them to coordinate with the departments of the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Health regarding food supplements, and to conduct awareness campaigns on the quality of generic medicines.

The Minister also ordered that the drug distribution chain should be reorganised to better regulate the market.
