LG Electronics Opens a Laundromat at the Sidi Abdellah Campus
LG Electronics is strengthening its social commitment in Algeria by opening a modern laundromat on the Sidi Abdellah University campus. This facility aims to improve students’ daily lives and support educational initiatives with a significant social impact.
The opening ceremony took place this morning in the presence of Young Jhon Han, Managing Director of LG Algeria, and Mustapha Kamel Nabbi, Marketing Director at LG Electronics Algeria, alongside representatives from the university.
As part of this initiative, LG Electronics donated 15 washing machines, 1 television and 1 air conditioner, thereby helping to improve living conditions in the halls of residence.
The washing machines automatically adjust their programmes according to the type of fabric and the weight of the laundry, whilst operating quietly and optimising water and electricity consumption. The television provides high-quality images for common areas, and the air conditioner ensures a comfortable temperature year-round.
As well as providing the necessary facilities, this initiative enables students to save time, reduce the burden of household chores and focus on their studies.
The Sidi Abdellah University Campus brings together five elite institutions with complementary specialisms. These include the National School of Autonomous Systems Technology and the School of Artificial Intelligence, both dedicated to intelligent machines, as well as the National School of Nanotechnology Sciences, which focuses on the infinitely small. This cluster is supported by the Higher School of Mathematics, the cornerstone of the fundamental sciences, and the Higher School of Cybersecurity, which safeguards national digital sovereignty.
The campus comprises six student halls of residence, each accommodating between 800 and 1,000 students, with a total of over 8,000 students in single rooms.
Mustapha Kamel Nabbi said, “Through this university laundrette, LG Electronics is helping to support the development of the academic system in Algeria.”
