CANEX WKND” from October 16 to 19 at the Palais des Expositions in Algiers

According to a joint press release issued on Sunday by the Ministries of Trade and Export Promotion, and Culture and the Arts, Algeria, in collaboration with the African Export-Import Bank “Afreximbank” and in partnership with the African Union Commission (AUC) and the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (ZLECAF), is holding “CANEX WKND 2024” from October 16 to 19 at the Palais des Expositions (SAFEX) in Algiers.

This event, both cultural and tourist, which precedes the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) scheduled for September 2025, in Algeria, and which is held under the slogan "A people united by culture and creativity in the service of the world", aims to be an important opportunity to raise awareness of the African creative and cultural industries encourage different talents in various fields of creativity from across the continent, promote debate among participants and provide more business opportunities between businesses on the one hand, and between businesses and governments on the other, specifies the press release. On the Algerian side, these days are organized by the Ministries of Commerce and the Promotion of Exports, Culture and Arts, Youth and Sports and Tourism and Crafts. In this context, various events will be organized, such as exhibitions, round tables, conferences, training workshops in the field of music and cinema, artistic works, art exhibitions and fashion shows, as well as sporting activities and visits to the various archaeological and tourist sites, adds the press release. In addition to the organization of the CANEX Prize for Literary Publishing in Africa celebrating literary excellence in the African continent, the event will also be marked by "a ceremony to award the "CANEX Shorts" Prizes (short film competition), according to the communicated. This continental event will also be marked by a fashion show from the "CANEX Fashion Show", by trade exhibitions dedicated to companies, commercial brands and creative organizations as well as by a gastronomic showcase.
