Algeria chaired the proceedings of this session, held on Monday and Tuesday at the WCO headquarters in Brussels, after having chaired the previous session, which "demonstrates the confidence it enjoys within the organisation's structures and its leading role in supporting the principles of transparency, good governance and modernisation of control systems," the statement said.

This presidency also reflects "Algeria's growing role as an active and reliable partner in the development of multilateral customs activity and the strengthening of international cooperation in the customs field," according to the same source.
