May 14 and 15 in Oran: International conference on “Green solutions in the oil and gas industry”.

The International Conference on “Green Solutions in the Oil and Gas Industry” (ICGS2025) will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at the Oran Convention Centre, organisers said.

According to a press release from the organisers, the Sonatrach Group's Central Research and Development Department and the Directorate General for Scientific Research and Technological Development (DGRSDT) are organising this scientific meeting. The meeting aims to bring together experts, professionals, and decision-makers from the oil and gas sector to discuss innovative ecological solutions and current environmental challenges.

 

"The conference will provide a platform for exchanging ideas and promoting sustainable and responsible practices in the industry," said the same source, adding that the lectures will be given by specialists from Algeria and other countries, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Malaysia, Canada, and France, among others.

 

The organisers said the development of innovative solutions in the green hydrogen industry will be one of the major thrusts of this meeting. They added that the holding of this Conference converges with Algeria's desire to commit itself fully to the energy transition and to position itself as a key regional player in renewable energies.

 

The meeting will also address several other topics, including "The challenges and opportunities of massively integrating renewable energies into smart grids", "Polyurethane material for hydrogen storage", "Safe Li-ion batteries for the electrification of society: from mining to recycling" and "Isolation and analysis of plant chemical constituents for corrosion inhibition applications".
