SIPA 2025 in November in Oran

More than 200 national and international exhibitors will participate in SIPA 2025, according to a statement released Wednesday by the Algerian Chamber of Fisheries and Aquaculture (CAPA), the event's organizer.

Placed under the high patronage of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, this year's edition will be held under the theme "Fisheries and aquaculture, innovation and partnerships," the statement said, noting that broad participation is expected at the event.

In addition to exhibitors, this edition will feature the participation of international organizations, financial institutions, and experts from several countries, as well as an official delegation and professional delegations from the Sultanate of Oman, the guest of honor at the exhibition.

Promoting investment opportunities

Held every two years, the SIPA trade show is considered "one of the leading economic and scientific events specializing in fishing and aquaculture in Algeria and the Mediterranean," according to the press release, which highlights "the remarkable evolution of this trade show since its launch twenty years ago."

As part of a national approach aimed at promoting the blue economy, this event will provide a platform for promoting investment opportunities in the sector, particularly in aquaculture, shipbuilding, processing industries, packaging and distribution techniques, as well as maritime finance and insurance, according to the press release.

A space dedicated to start-ups and innovative projects

In addition, SIPA 2025 will feature the organisation of technical workshops and scientific conferences in partnership with regional and international organisations, including the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM), the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), and the OuestMed Initiative.

The exhibition also provides a space dedicated to start-ups and innovative projects, to enhance the use of technology in maritime value chains and permit young people to present their projects to investors and funders.

Partnership and cooperation meetings

The exhibition will also be an opportunity to consolidate Algeria's position as a "regional centre for Arab-African cooperation in the field of fisheries, especially as the event will feature partnership and cooperation meetings between national and international players, given the growing African and Arab presence at this edition," according to the organizers.

SIPA 2025 represents "an exceptional opportunity to promote the conclusions of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) scheduled to take place in Algeria, which will generate interest among participants and encourage them to take part in the IATF." In this context, Capa noted that Algeria's aim through this event was to attract investment, encourage innovation, and support international cooperation in this sector, which is considered "one of the future foundations of food security and sustainable development in the country."
