Following a presentation on Saidal's activities, projects, and prospects, the minister discussed Algeria's pharmaceutical production and pharmaceutical market, including the mechanisms of organisation and control and the methods of product approval and certification.

According to a ministry statement, they reviewed Saidal's contribution to self-sufficiency in pharmaceutical products in terms of volume and types of drugs and its projects to diversify and increase production to expand its market share.

During the meeting, several points concerning the organisation of the national pharmaceutical market were discussed, and the Minister stressed the importance of diversifying the sources of raw materials to avoid stock shortages and production fluctuations.

The Minister also stressed the need to increase production and expand the range of medicines to achieve self-sufficiency, aligning with the President's directives.

Mr Gherieb called for projects to be implemented more quickly, including the production of reagents for the early diagnosis of certain diseases and infant milk.

The Minister Delegate for Pharmaceutical Production stressed that Saidal must regain its position on the Algerian market by speeding up its planned projects and intensifying its efforts.

An important point raised during the meeting was the possibility of reorganising and restructuring Saidal to optimise its management, adapt it to market requirements and modernise its management methods, possibly with the help of start-ups.

Finally, the Minister sets out directives for creating a technology centre for pharmaceutical products and establishing a network to authenticate and certify pharmaceutical equipment.
