The shipping company Suardiaz has launched a new maritime route between Marseille and Djen Djen, Algeria, establishing its third connection to the country after Mostaganem and Skikda. This expansion follows an increase in French exports to Algeria, particularly industrial goods and transport equipment, in 2024. Djen Djen is Algeria’s largest operational port and offers an alternative to the congested port of Algiers. The new route will operate six to seven times a month, with a loading capacity of 6,000 linear metres for transporting cars, agricultural machinery and construction equipment. Suardiaz aims to strengthen logistics options and secure trade between France and Algeria. The group operates in several French ports and is also expanding its air freight services.
