In a speech delivered today at the ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of the creation of the National Union of Algerian Farmers (UNPA), the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune indicated that the agricultural land issue would be “definitively closed” by 2025.

"Agricultural land has been an inherited problem since independence, but we will work to close this issue in 2025, definitively," he declared.

On this occasion, he called on the executive to "work with farmers" to find a solution to this problem and "the legal framework to define and protect land ownership."

The President stressed the need to "provide real data" in the agricultural sector to continue modernising this vital sector by "ensuring national production in processing industries that honour the country and avoiding exporting raw agricultural products".

After expressing his pride in achieving this vital sector, Abdelmadjid Tebboune affirmed that farmers "are capable of achieving the expected objectives in terms of self-sufficiency and food security".
