The same official specified, in a statement to APS, that this plan, developed "with care", is based on four main areas capable of reviving this industrial company, created in the 1970s with, at the time, a theoretical production capacity of 30,000 units, including bicycles and mopeds, and which provided 1,600 jobs before facing various difficulties over the last 25 years, which severely affected its operations.
Boulsane said that the first part of the plan consists of a "promising economic and technological partnership agreement" recently signed with a world-renowned Chinese company for the production of a new type of modern high-speed motorcycle, with a guarantee of gradual integration of around 40% over five years.
Under the terms of the agreement, the foreign party undertakes to transfer knowledge and technology and to train Algerian workers, according to the CEO of Cycma, who added that this agreement will enable the company to increase its production capacity in the coming years and achieve "significant" turnover, while creating many significant jobs, bringing the number of workers to around 500 instead of the current 120, in addition to the possibility of exporting the new type of powerful and fast motorcycles to the foreign market.
According to the same source, the second focus of the plan is to continue training, production and development to produce, in particular, tricycles for people with reduced mobility (a recently developed product) and a new range of bicycles, while adopting a marketing strategy based on the company's points of sale in Constantine, Algiers, Chlef, Oran and Ouargla.
According to the same manager, the other aspects of the company's recovery plan are based on subcontracting for the production of spare parts "on demand", relying on Cycma's extensive fleet of over 400 machines, capable of producing many different types of spare parts.
Affirming that Cycma has the qualifications and sufficient assets to meet the challenge of development, Mr Boulsane pointed out that the production unit, which covers approximately 14 hectares in Guelma, is located on the outskirts of a major transport network that provides access to all neighbouring provinces.
