Algeria strengthens its technology partnerships

Algeria has stepped up its efforts to strengthen its technology partnerships at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, held in Barcelona from March 3 to 6.

Algeria's Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki, has held several meetings with his African counterparts to explore opportunities for cooperation in telecommunications and new technologies.

On the sidelines of the Barcelona trade show, he held an African ministerial meeting on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and proposed the creation of an African council dedicated to AI, with Algeria as candidate co-chair. He also called for the harmonization of AI policies across the continent.

Accompanied by a delegation of economic operators, Zerrouki met with technology giants such as Huawei, ZTE, Ericsson and Ookla to promote Algeria's attractiveness and digital ecosystem. During the event, Algérie Télécom received the IDATE Best Practices Award for the development of domestic broadband, in recognition of its commitment to an innovative and sustainable digital future.

These initiatives illustrate Algeria's commitment to strengthening its Africa partnerships, focusing on developing skills and technological infrastructures.
