Algeria and India want to strengthen their cooperation

According to a ministry press release, the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Ahmed Attaf, held telephone talks with his Indian counterpart, Mr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, on Saturday.

They also noted the satisfaction of both countries following the successful state visit by the Indian President to Algeria last October. They affirmed that the visit had breathed new life into their relations.

In this context, the two diplomats agreed to monitor the implementation of the decisions the two Heads of State took, particularly the decision to hold a joint ministerial meeting in New Delhi in the first quarter of next year.

The two ministers also stressed the importance of strengthening coordination, cooperation and political consultation between the two countries in the face of the many challenges posed by the current international context.
