According to an Argentine operator, Argentina is taking advantage of New Zealand's difficulties in exporting to Algeria due to the security situation in the Middle East.
‘New Zealand is experiencing problems exporting to Algeria due to the conflicts in the Middle East, freight insurance has been considerably increased for shipments that have to cross the Suez Canal’, explained José “Pepe” Quintana, Director of Economía Láctea.
‘This situation favours Argentina, exporting a greater volume of milk powder to Algeria, the country's second most important market behind Brazil’, he added.
