Gica, Agrodiv and Ferrovial under the industry minister's microscope

On Tuesday, Sifi Gherieb, Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, continued his meetings with public-sector groups for the fourth and last day running. He met with the three groups Gica, specializing in cement, Agrodiv, specializing in the food industry, and Ferrovial, specializing in the production of railway equipment.

Increasing industry's contribution to GDP: objectives and achievements

The Minister of Industry outlined the general orientations of the industrial sector in line with President Tebboune's directives to increase the industry's contribution to gross domestic product (GDP). The meeting focused on assessing current performance, plans for industrial groups, and obstacles encountered.

GICA Group performance and projects

The Minister hailed GICA's encouraging results in cement production, which more than covers national needs and has been exporting since 2018. New projects include

·  Ship loading via SHIPLOADER.

·  Five grain storage warehouses.

·  Two cement factories in Adrar and Djelfa.

·  Six brick factories resulting from the recovery of assets confiscated as part of the fight against corruption.

14 Agrodiv projects by the end of 2025

The Agrodiv Group plans to launch 14 new projects by the end of 2025, with annual production capacities estimated at:

·  8.5 million quintals of semolina.

·  12.5 million quintals of flour.

·  520,000 quintals of pasta.

·  200,000 quintals of couscous.

·  114,000 tonnes of table oil and 3,800 tonnes of olive oil.

·  410,000 tonnes of juices and preserves.

 

The Minister called for product diversification, particularly in the pasta sector, and coordination with research centres to develop new solutions.

Feruvial and Cital: reverse engineering and industry 4.0

Société Nationale de Production d'Équipements Ferroviaires (Feruvial) (National Railway Equipment Production Company) and its subsidiary Cital presented their advances in reverse engineering and the development of Industry 4.0.
Cital relies on a dynamic information system to facilitate internal communication and exchanges with its suppliers and customers.
