Algerian-Italian business forum in Rome: energy, infrastructure and industry at the centre of discussions
The Italian-Algerian Investors Forum will take place on July 23 at the Hotel Parco dei Principi in Rome. The forum aims to strengthen economic relations between the two countries and continue implementing the Mattei Plan, which focuses on increasing Italy's economic presence in Algeria, a strategic country in the southern Mediterranean and on the African continent.
The Italian government organises a major Algerian-Italian economic forum in coordination with several institutions, including ICE, the Italian Embassy in Algeria and the Business Club Algérie. Three strategic sectors will be addressed through specialised sessions: energy and the circular economy (including green hydrogen and energy infrastructure), infrastructure and transport (construction, logistics, tourism, and health), and industry and agrifood (agricultural technologies, mechanics, automotive, pharmaceuticals and innovation). The forum takes place against a backdrop of sharply rising trade between the two countries, which reached 14 billion euros in 2024. Algeria remains Italy's gas supplier and second strategic partner, while Italian exports to the Mediterranean region are growing.
