Intra-African Trade Fair: over 2,000 exhibitors expected in Algiers

More than 2,000 exhibitors, including companies from the African continent and around the world, will be showcasing their products and services at the 4th edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF), scheduled for September 4-10, 2025 in Algiers, according to a press release from the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), organizer of the event.

Themed “Gateway to New Opportunities”, IATF2025 will welcome over 35,000 visitors from more than 140 countries around the world, according to the press release, which forecasts more than US$44 billion in trade and investment deals during the week of the fair.

The IATF 2025 will be marked by the presence of heads of state and government, ministers of trade, finance, culture and other ministries, as well as industry leaders, the same source assured.

Key activities planned for IATF2025 include a trade exhibition, a four-day trade and investment forum with African and international speakers, and an exhibition on the African automotive industry, the statement said.

Special days will be dedicated to countries as well as public and private entities to showcase trade and investment opportunities, Afreximbank said, stressing that tourism and cultural attractions are also planned in the programme of events, including a dedicated day for the Diaspora to highlight the commercial and cultural links between Africa and its communities abroad.

Also planned are a business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) platform for networking and business exchanges, the AU Youth Start-Up programme to showcase innovative ideas and prototypes, and the African @IATF research and innovation platform for university students and researchers.

Organised in collaboration with the African Union Commission (AUC) and the General Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), this biennial event aims to support the development of intra-African trade and investment, particularly in the context of the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA).
