Solar panel manufacturing: China's LONGI wishes to invest in Algeria

According to a Ministry press release, the Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, received on Monday a delegation from the Chinese company LONGI, specialised in solar panel manufacturing, who expressed the group's interest in investing in Algeria.

At a meeting held at the Ministry of Energy, a Chinese delegation led by James Jin, LONGi's President for the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia region, explored avenues of cooperation in renewable energies with Algerian officials. Discussions focused on investment opportunities in solar photovoltaics, green hydrogen, and energy storage in Algeria. LONGi presented its innovations in high-efficiency solar panels and expressed interest in developing a local panel manufacturing industry in Algeria. Discussions also covered the creation of partnerships with local operators and research centres to foster technological innovation and improve the rate of national integration in the sector.
