Clinker exports: Biskra-Djen Djen logistics platform inaugurated

Adj Bouaouni, Managing Director of Société Nationale des Transports Ferroviaires (SNTF) (National Rail Transport Company), presided over the inauguration ceremony for the export logistics platform and its equipment, built by Rail Logistique, a subsidiary of SNTF.

Algeria inaugurates its first logistics platform to transport cement clinker from the Biskra plant to the port of Djen Djen in Jijel, a distance of 450 km by rail, according to SNTF. This innovative project aims to optimise delivery times and reduce road traffic by providing an integrated solution from the production site to the port. This development is in line with the national strategy to promote non-hydrocarbon exports. During the inauguration, a ceremony was held to honour the platform's workers motivate them for their commitment and discuss their social and professional concerns.
