In a statement to the press on the sidelines of a working visit to the wilaya, in the company of Kamel Moula, Chairman of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA), and Samir Chibani, Wali of Oran, Mr. Rekkache specified that these four projects, located in Oran, Sétif, Aïn M'lila (Oum El Bouaghi) and Touggourt, would have a total manufacturing capacity of 20,000 tonnes. Mr. Rekkache explained that these four projects, located in Oran, Sétif, Aïn M'lila (Oum El Bouaghi) and Touggourt, will have a total manufacturing capacity of 20 million tires for light and heavy vehicles, which will cover national needs in this field and open up export prospects for these products.

As part of his visit, Mr. Rekkache laid the foundation stone for a tire production plant to be built by El Hadj Arabi Industries in the El Hamoul industrial zone, in the commune of Tafraoui.

This project will be carried out in partnership with the Chinese company "Doublestar", producing tires in line with international standards for the national market, whilst the surplus will be exported to the Middle East, Europe and America, according to explanations given on site.

About 50 billion dinars in investment has been earmarked for this project, with an initial production capacity of at least 7 million tires, rising to 22 million a year.

Once operational, the project is expected to create 2,000 direct jobs and reduce the import bill by around $200 million, while generating nearly $300 million in foreign currency earnings, according to project managers.

Rekkache emphasized that these projects are part of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's strategy to achieve industrial sovereignty, particularly in sectors related to consumer goods.

For his part, Kamel Moula, Chairman of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, emphasized the importance of the partnership with the Chinese company "Doublestar", which has a worldwide distribution network that will facilitate product exports.

The foundation stone was also laid for the "Tazi Agro Industry" infant milk production plant in the Hassi Ben Okba industrial zone.

According to the information provided, the investment in this plant amounts to 5.5 billion dinars, with an annual production capacity of 40 million cans of infant milk.

In situ, Mr. Rekkache assured that AAPI would be working to support this project, besides all others with high added value, right up to the start of operations.  When it starts operating in two years, the plant is expected to create over 200 jobs.

For his part, Mr. Moula recalled the President of the Republic's policy of encouraging projects linked to the production of this strategic material.
