The International Conference on the Maritime Economy (ICME) will be held on November 4 in Algiers, focusing on the challenges of climate change, geopolitical tensions and technological developments impacting maritime transport. Organized by the World Trade Center Algiers in partnership with Global Trade Support, this second edition, under the theme “Navigating towards the future: Building tomorrow's maritime sector”, will bring together international experts to discuss the sector's challenges and opportunities.

Topics will include maritime law, port performance and shipbuilding in the context of decarbonisation. CIEM is a key platform for industry leaders, policymakers and experts to promote sustainable practices and technological innovation in maritime transport.

Notable speakers include Jan Hoffman, an expert in maritime dynamics, and Professor Norman Martinez, a specialist in maritime law, who will share their insights. The conference will also provide networking and collaboration opportunities for industry professionals. Ahmed Tibaoui, CEO of the World Trade Center Algiers, emphasises the importance of these exchanges in envisioning a sustainable and innovative future for the maritime sector.
