Large-scale retail outlets planned in Algeria

In New Delhi, India, Tayeb Zitouni and the Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al Sayed, discussed planned investment projects in Algeria, including large-scale retail outlets.

On Tuesday, a press release from the Ministry of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation indicated that Mr Zitouni emphasized: "the importance of these investment projects, particularly large-scale retail outlets, and the strengthening of coordination in the next stage, to study and activate opportunities for cooperation and promoting trade between the two countries."

Strategic partnerships

The press release notes that the Qatari Minister hailed the "promising" investment opportunities in Algeria and expressed "his country's willingness to develop strategic partnerships in various economic sectors, particularly in light of the strong fraternal relations linking the two countries."

The meeting took place on the sidelines of Mr. Zitouni's participation in the 29th edition of the Partnership Summit (2024), organized in the Indian capital by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in collaboration with the Department of Promotion of Industry and Domestic Trade (DPIIT), part of the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
