A delegation representing 40 Indian companies is expected in Algeria in January 2026 to explore opportunities for cooperation and investment in the country. On this occasion, Mr Rekkache expressed the Agency's commitment to mobilising the necessary resources to ensure the success of this visit and to promote the conclusion of mutually beneficial partnership and investment agreements.

The meeting with India's diplomatic representative in Algeria also aims to strengthen economic cooperation and Indian investment in Algeria. This is according to a statement from the AAPI received by our editorial team. Discussions between the two parties focused on partnership opportunities in high-potential sectors, particularly the pharmaceutical industry and drug production, as well as ways to expand the presence of Indian companies in the Algerian market. The discussions also highlighted several investment projects by Indian companies already established in Algeria, as well as the interest of the international pharmaceutical company Tenshi in future development in the country.

The Indian Ambassador and the Director General of AAPI emphasised the importance of maintaining continuous dialogue and close coordination to bring promising investment projects to fruition, reflecting the depth and strength of economic relations between Algeria and India.

As a reminder, the President of the Republic of India, Droupadi Murmu, made a four-day state visit to Algeria in October 2024. On that occasion, she stated that her country "is a strong development partner for Algeria," emphasising that investment opportunities remain open in several sectors, such as energy, fertilisers, pharmaceuticals and renewable energies.

Recently, the Indian Ambassador had a meeting with the Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab. The two parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in oil and gas exploration and production, petrochemicals, energy infrastructure development, engineering, equipment manufacturing and marketing.
