Conference on Investment Opportunities in Africa at the IMAA

The Algerian-American Management Institute (IMAA) hosted a conference to explore economic opportunities in Africa focusing on investment potential in West Africa, particularly Ghana and Senegal.

Strengthening Algeria's presence in Africa

Karim Mahmoudi, President of the CGF, highlighted Algeria's stability and growing ambitions in Africa. He announced plans for new Algerian showrooms and a business centre in Dakar to support Algerian companies.

Regulatory and strategic issues

· Foreign exchange regulations: Lawyer Nacereddine Lezzar highlighted the bureaucratic hurdles in Algeria's currency control system.

· International trade: Saïd Talhadjt discussed Algeria's evolving trade policy and the role of banks in facilitating smooth transactions.

· Guinea-Algeria cooperation: Faraban Magassouba, Guinea's economic advisor, advocated joint ventures and partnerships in line with bilateral agreements.

Objective: African economic integration

The event underlined Algeria's commitment to fostering stronger economic ties within Africa, removing regulatory barriers, and promoting cooperation for mutual growth.
