The commission was set up during a coordination meeting between the Ministers of Industry and Agriculture to implement a national program to increase production capacity. The meeting reviewed the completion of 16 metal silos by Batimetal. The government aims to strengthen the national grain storage capacity with 350 local storage centres, 30 strategic silos and 16 metal silos. Ministers emphasised the need to accelerate these projects before the next harvest season. Batimetal has committed to deliver the silos by June 2025. A joint technical committee will monitor the progress of the projects. The two ministries agreed to collaborate on joint projects, including livestock hide collection and agricultural fertilizer production.
