The text indicates that Algeria is continuing to implement its solar energy development program, which aims to reach a capacity of 15,000 MW by 2035. The first phase of the program, which involves the construction of solar power plants in several provinces with a total capacity of 3,200 MW, has already been launched and is progressing steadily. Several power plants are expected to come online this year with a combined capacity of 1,480 MW. Work is well advanced at several sites, notably Tendla (93%), El Ghrous (86%), El Foulia (76%), Khenguet Sidi Nadji (62%), as well as Ouled Djellal, Abadla, and M'sila, where progress is around 50%.

The official also said that Sonelgaz plans to expand its activities in Africa, with projects to build power plants in Burkina Faso and Mozambique. As with the ongoing project in Niamey (Niger), the Algerian company will put its expertise at the service of its African partners by offering specialized training and creating depots for locally produced equipment and spare parts.
