Algeria-Congo: opportunities for cooperation in the mining sector reviewed

ALGIERS - The Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, reviewed the opportunities for cooperation, investment, and partnership in the mining sector with the Minister of State, Minister of Mining Industries and Geology of the Republic of Congo, Pierre Oba, who began a working visit to Algeria on Monday, according to a ministry press release.

The Congolese Minister of Mines and Geology, led by a high-level delegation, met with Algerian officials to strengthen bilateral relations and explore opportunities for cooperation in the mining sector. Discussions focused on joint project development, exchange of expertise, training and mining governance.

The meeting also highlighted potential collaboration in geological research, mapping, resource processing and environmental protection. The Congolese Minister expressed his interest in partnerships with Algerian mining companies, including Sonarem and its subsidiaries, and praised the strong and historic ties between the two nations.
