Algeria: these products are banned from export

The Algerian Exporter's Guide 2024, regularly updated by the customs authorities, lists products that are banned from export due to legislative restrictions and customs regulations designed to protect the national economy and the country's heritage.

List of Prohibited Export Products (2024):

  1. Books, films, and items that offend public morality and decency.
  2. Ferrous and non-ferrous metal waste, and used batteries (currently suspended from export).
  3. Raw hides (suspended from export).
  4. Raw or semi-finished coral.
  5. Date palm plants.
  6. Breeding sheep and cattle.
  7. Objects of national interest in history, art, or archaeology, including vintage vehicles.
  8. Animals and plants from protected species.
  9. Ozone-depleting substances (ODS).
  10. Counterfeit goods.
  11. Other goods, prohibited by specific legislative or regulatory measures.

Certain goods require authorizations, visas, or other specific certificates before export, following the applicable regulations.

The guide focuses on customs procedures, detailing the process from goods loading to final shipment. It is designed to help exporters by simplifying administrative procedures and providing information on deadlines and costs to optimize export operations.
