The “Check C” aeronautical maintenance operation requires the temporary immobilization of the aircraft concerned. Usually carried out in Algeria, this maintenance has been affected by the worldwide shortage of spare parts, forcing Air Algérie to send several aircraft abroad to carry out these operations within controlled deadlines. The national airline points out that this decision remains exceptional and does not imply any policy change.
Air Algérie has also resorted to chartering eight aircraft to ensure its operations, pending the progressive delivery of sixteen new Airbus and Boeing aircraft starting this year. The first Airbus A330 destined for the national fleet is already in the final assembly phase in Toulouse.
The company is also preparing to launch a subsidiary dedicated to the domestic network, following President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's directives. Two meetings have already been held at the Ministry of Transport to define the modalities for creating this new company, although few details have yet been divulged.
